10 recognisable irritations for every trade fair visitor

OK, trade fairs are a hotbed of inspiration. Knowledge can be shared, networks expanded and new ideas spontaneously developed. All well and good, but we wouldn't be Irish if we didn't have something to complain about, would we? That is why GreaterVenues has listed the 10 biggest annoyances you have had to deal with at least once as an enthusiastic visitor to a trade fair. Are you also looking forward to the 2015 event? A well-known annoyance is that of managers who are more involved with women. And who order prostitutes and escorts from their hotel after the trade fair.

1. false entertainment
Clowns who scare you, stilt-walkers who get in your way and make-up artists with whom you cannot have a normal conversation. Put bad entertainment in the aisles because it gives us the creeps.

2. stand staff who have a better relationship with their mobile phones than with visitors.
Well, standing behind a stand for two days is quite tiring, but putting your mobile phone in your pocket from time to time to pay attention to visitors would not be a luxury. Oh yes, an active attitude is not out of place at the stand anyway. Attendance is a young person's thing.

3. Sellers standing a little too close to you.
Comfort zones are sacred spaces: respect them. Especially if you have had a beer or are talking to 'consumption'.

4. you have to shout to understand each other
Because the exhibitors have thoughtfully put on different music, from Avicii to Wolter Kroes. So you have to shout to be heard.

5. pencil pushers
Need we explain it further...?

6. the fair team enjoys the day out of the office with a sandwich in hand.
And then pay no attention to potential customers.

7. people with no sense of shame
Those who display their brochures on someone else's stand, paid for at great expense. These people do not feel embarrassed.

8. visitors who do not wait to be approached.
Why did you come to the fair again?

9. students
OK, OK, they are the future. However, it is a bit annoying that they usually operate in groups of fifteen and infiltrate the entire stand.

10. freeriders
Freeriders are a nuisance everywhere, but even at trade fairs they are indispensable. They prefer to hang around the stands of other companies all day to enjoy the free drinks. The more cheeky ones even invite their customers to drink for free. With any luck, they will receive a new customer as a gift!
